Recife Beaches Don’t Get More Spectacular Than Boa Viagem

Boa Viagem is one of the most visited Recife beaches. The famous beach is nearly seven kilometers long, and maintained in a pristine manner through rigid enforcement of many beautification policies designed to preserve the beauty and charm of this sandy stretch. These policies include regulations like absolutely no cooking on the sand, or no restaurants lining the beach; rather all restaurants that want to do business on this Recife Brazil beach must operate across the road from the actual sand. Fear not however; tourists and locals alike are well served on the Boa Viagem beach. Vendors are more than accommodating, and will sell prepared food from carts and stands. These vendors are a local Boa Viagem tradition and fiercely preserve their spot on the beach.

Like other Recife beaches in Brazil, Boa Viagem is lined with a natural reef protecting the shallow waters from high waves and strong currents. While this Recife coast location is indeed protected with a natural reef, care must be taken to not swim beyond the boundaries of this reef, as Boa Viagem is known for shark attacks in the deep waters. It is also due to this reef that Boa Viagem is not a great place to take a surf trip or surf holiday. In fact, surfers will find Boa Viagem next to useless for anything beyond working on their tans. Unlike other Racife beaches with a surf camp and great surfing; the only thing a surfer will be able to do here is take beautiful Boa Viagem Racife beach pics, and enjoy the view of other people enjoying the sand and surf.

The Boa Viagem beach in Racife Brazil can be enjoyable at both high and low tide. During times of high tide the entire beach is bordered by a continuous band of ocean, however at low tide large tide pools form, and in fact the protective reef appears to rise from the ocean and can even be walked on. When people think of Recife beaches they naturally think of Boa Viagem; the most popular of all Recife beaches. It is easy to see why too, with killer views, great swimming opportunities, and a unique walkable (though slippery reef) there is no reason not to book a trip tomorrow. So pack your sunscreen and swimsuit; and join the people already in love with the Boa Viagem and the other Recife beaches. Just be sure to stay within the border of the protective reef - a shark attack can be a real vacation killer.
