Can’t Visit Piedade And NOT Surf

There are many beaches like Piedade beach on the Recife coast, all of which can be read about in the Recife Brazil surf report. And with all this variety the only thing that can be said about all Recife beaches is that they are beautiful, and they are all unique in some interesting way.

Unlike many of the other beaches in Recife, Brazil, Piedade beach is populated more by locals than tourists. Make no mistake; Piedade is still lined with hotels, and happens to be a tourist magnet, however unlike many other Recife beaches Piedade is still very popular with the locals. Unlike other Recife Brazil beach stretches, the hotels lining Piedade have direct access to the beach. Other areas require that hotels be build across the road from beaches to minimize environmental impact and preserve the natural beauty as much as possible.

Surfing is not popular in the traditional sense at Piedade beach; however the interested surfers still may get their fix of water activities with wind surfing, and para sailing, among the many options. While there is no surf camp for the avid surfer to go visit, it is still worth a visit as part of a larger surf trip, or surf holiday.

Volleyball and other sand sports are also hugely popular on Piedade beach. It is not uncommon to find people throwing a frisbee between larger groups of individuals hitting around a volleyball. In fact it is the people just as much as the beautiful natural surroundings that make Piedade beach a fantastic place to take Recife beach pics. Pictures taken at Piedade encompass the best of what can be found both at the beach and Recife.

When visiting Piedade be sure to shop around for great hotel deals. Because Piedade is so close to other beaches and cities there is stiff competition to draw tourists to the area, so spending a little extra time looking for a bargain will likely save the frugal tourist considerable cash. Like many other Recife beaches, Piedade has its share of food carts and drink vendors. Care must be taken to make sure that you are purchasing food from a reputable vendor, and as always be on the lookout for the “tourist markup” where the quick thinking vendor does a quick markup of his items to make a fast dollar from the unsuspecting tourist. As a general rule eat what the locals are eating at Piedade, it is unlikely that they will steer you wrong.
